DESCRIPTION:
Miniature: Watercolor and gouache portrait of the young Louis XV of France with a young woman and what appears to be a monkey, on ivory, oval gold pendant with brass clamp backing and no bail, pendant measures 84mm x 61mm including jump ring, unsigned with writing on back (see photo). Louis XV ruled France from 1723 to 1774. From the collection of former US ambassadors to France and Belgium.
